*****edit*****

not that it matters, but more stuff is fixed

****edit****

final-er major edit... took some crit from conseptart.org... maybe more changes are on the way :P

***edit***

final major edit... not much changed, just formatted it up and added in the planet/moon thingy... which in retrospect i can't tell if i love or hate :/

**edit**

added more hard shadows, to give the star a bit more say in the lighting :P

*edit*

changed the propulsion colors from blue to orange-ish + added a few more layers of shadow and hightlights, but im still going to tighten it up a bit - despite the hugely severe lack of critique ;_;

this is basically final, but i wanted to get some crit on it before i put it up on the thread! - i started and finished it today, so i don't wanna jump the gun without taking a day to refresh my eyes and see it from a different perspective

done for conceptart.org's industrial design of the week located here [link];posted=1#post1447690

this weeks topic was pretty epic, i highly encourage you to read the thread, but the basics of it was to create a spaceship, designed solely to win a 8 month endurance race around the galaxy... the ship would also be a flagship for the nation it represents so its not some junker, its a formula 1 :D

coloring style was influenced by chris foss [link] who i was recently introduced to by jeremy bennett of valve (oh what a circle)

the form was primarily chosen based on being a flying engine. since presence of warp technology was vague i tried keeping the engines as generic as i could, however the rear main engine would most likely be an FTL drive of some kind - for what its worth!

crew compartment is just that front part, with access to the rest of the ship only offered in the form of a tube.

my roommate convinced me to keep the front engine glows in, but i kinda liked just the light on the ship as indication that they were up and running...

like i said, i'd love for some last minute critique, but this could very well be the final version of it :P

I have a request to make of you reguarding this ship concept. I am a model maker for a game, and I've been wanting to use this ship as a model. May I have your permission to use it as a basic model?
