"A chunky pistol-style firearm, looking a little like a nailgun. It's powered by pressurised steam, so there should be a small vent in the side for the steam to escape from. There also needs to be a broad trapdoor in the top of the gun where the nail ammunition is tipped when the device is reloaded. The rest I leave entirely up to you."

If I cut my hair,
If I change my clothes,
Will you notice me?
If I bite my lip,
If I say hello,
Will you notice me?
Whats it gonna take for you to see
I want you to notice me,
I'll get you notice me.
the only reason this is steam powered is due to request... obviously a steam engine that size would be way impractical... but steampunk is basically sci-fi in the past!

Exactly the only reason it works at all in the setting I have in mind for it is due to a relaxing of the usual laws of physics. In reality, a firearm based on steam power would take a long time to build up the pressure required to fire, would only toss the nail 10 to 20 metres in a curving trajectory, and would be a danger to the user due to the large amount of superheated steam expelled every time it was fired. Thank goodness fiction doesn't rely on facts too heavily!
p.s. great work! I'll be posting your payment tomorrow morning, should be with you by the middle of next week (allowing for bank holidays)

Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
